For too long, downtown and St. Cloud State have felt like two separate places. The 2026 capital investment bill includes $3.4 million to redesign Fifth Avenue as a complete street — safe to walk, safe to bike, and actually connecting the two.

We have a beautiful stretch of river running through the middle of our city, and not enough ways to enjoy it. I secured $3 million to build a riverfront connection between St. Cloud Hospital and the River’s Edge Convention Center.

A walkable downtown and a beautiful riverfront are investments in our economic future.
