Accountability
Fighting fraud
The fraud we’re seeing in our government is outrageous, and I’m fighting for real accountability. I authored a bill to create the Office of the Inspector General — an independent office, separated from politics, whose whole job is to expose fraud.
I’m also toughening penalties for those who commit fraud — including making sure anyone convicted of it can never access state money again.
As our State Senator, I have
- Modernized the technology our counties use to make it easier for them to detect and prevent fraud
- Improved how the Departments of Agriculture and Veterans Affairs process grants, as part of my role chairing the Senate’s Agriculture, Veterans, Broadband, and Rural Development committee
- Secured a spot on the committee that is overseeing the selection of Minnesota’s new Inspector General, working to make sure they are equipped to effectively combat fraud
An independent office, separated from politics, whose whole job is to expose fraud.
